I am considering the purchase of one of the Lyman tumblers with the auto-flo system for removing the media. The cost of that unit is very close to the cost of the midway package which comes with the rotary media separator. Does the Lyman unit remove all of the media from the cases, and is this process quick or does it require another half hour of running the unit to get all of the media out of both the bowl and the brass casings. Is the rotary separator more effective, and quicker.?

I purchased the Cabela's Tumbler with Separator, media and polish for less.....$64.99 or $54.99 on sale.. Works well and I don't use the sifter pan, just dig in and pull out the brass.

Years ago I bought the Turbo Twin which has 2 bowls with it (the smaller bowl does come in handy). The lid to the large bowl acts as a sifter. You just remove the bowl , hold the lid on tighly by hand, invert the bowl and sift the media out into a suitable bucket. Works like a charm with very little effort or time.

I use the midway rotary sifter and it works real well. I have no experience with the others so I can't say. One thing I used to do was use a bucket and a cheap plastic spaghetti strainer and it works about as good as anything. Dump it all in and swirl around. works great. KN

i got the turbo twin and it does a good job, but dang, it's LOUD! i've seen much quieter ones, and when ihe cord finally shorted, it was a pain to repair...when it burns up, i'm trying something else....

I've had two fo the Lyman 2200's with the turbo-flo for years and have never had any complaints or problems.

I've been using the Lyman Turbo tumbler for the better part of 25 years and its' still going strong... However, as with ANY tumbler, you do need to check the cases individually, especially bottleneck rifle cases for media jammed inside, and ALL cases for media stuck in the primer pocket and ESPECIALLY in the flash hole... :grin:
