rebarreling the Model 60 .22 rifle??

Can the Marlin Model 60 .22 rifle be rebarreled to a different caliber?

If so it would be harder than the 10-22 rebarrel.  And I have never seen aftermarket barrels for them.  So my guess is that while possible it is likely more expensive than the gun is worth.  Maybe others can help with sources for parts etc.

It is possible but parts are not commercially made. So things like heacier bolts and stiffer retuen springs and barrels to fit the receiver would have to be made. 17 caliber barrels are acailable from Brownells and several other sources. Other parts would have to be made. Likely cost greatly outweighs cost of a different 17 HM2 rifle..
