BRASS FRAME

I just bought a traditions 1860 army brass frame revolver and would like to dull the brass to age it, Has anyone done this or know how to? Thanks for any help.

What I have done with brass is to wipe it with the patch I used to wipe between shots when shooting real no kidding black powder.  If you wipe it with that damp patch the brass will get a patina real fast.

There are products to darken brass but egg whites will work just fine.
