Thread locker

Is there info somewhere that gives the properties of the various threadlockers and there various applications (i.e. Loctite etc. ). For example I use # 290 (green) on scope rings and eyeglasses. It has "wicking" properties which means you can tighten down the screws before applying it.

Permatex has all of their Loctite products listed with usage. The green requires heat for removal, the purple would be the best application for ring screws, but I think most ring mfrs recommend against using thread locker on ring screws, just base screws. I've never used thread locker on ring screws and never had em get loose on scopes that had been mounted for well over 20yrs. I use clear nail polish on my eye glasses screws, I'm sure your optician will appreciate the green loctite on your glasses when it comes time to change lenses!!  :o
