Have "A" Prefix S&W Model 41 --- Will New Barrels Have To Be Fitted?

I would like to be able to switch back and forth between barrels on my "A" prefix Model 41.  Will either the older or the newer manufactured barrels require a fitting to properly seat/fit on the "A" prefix frame?  Lastly, more specifally are the newer manufactured 41 barrels even intended to be mounted on the earlier Model 41 frames?  Thanks,
