Bull Barrell in 308

I asked a while back, if you could get a handi rifle, heavy barrell in 30.06. The answer was no. I looked thru the H&R web site and found that you can get a heavy barrell in 308. Question: Can you order a handi from the factory, with the heavy 308 barrell? If so, has anyone done this and from what dealer, and what was the model designator, so I can see if Wal Mart will order it? Thanks.

Only wholesalers can order direct from H&R, dealers can't. The only thing you can order as an individual from the factory are parts, or get an accessory barrel fitted to your frame. The Survivor is the only offering with a .308 bull barrel.
