Used med Leupold QRWs to mount Burris 4X compact on my huntsman. I use the hammer extension, and there is more than 1/8" clearance above the unaltered hammer. This scope has 5" of eye relief, which helps for unexpected positions/angles, but the ocular is still above the hammer. Cheek weld and eye position with these rings is absolutely perfect for me(standard synthetic stock). Do the test - close eyes, mount gun to shoulder and cheek, then open eyes. You shouldn't have to adjust to much for a clear picture. Mediums are the way to go unless you have a large objective. Put too big a scope on and the gun loses alot of its appeal - light weight and balance- unless of course you don't have to carry it alot.
