1st Deers With a Muzzleloader
« on: December 12, 2006, 02:20:23 PM »
This year was my first season hunting with a muzzlleloader with a cheapy CVA Buckhorn .50 caliber and I am hooked. My first shot was an 8 point, be it a bit of a scrubber and the next weekend I took a mature doe. Two shots, two kills. Cant beat that I reckon.

If interested the pics are at http://bghi.us/photos/view_album.php?set_albumName=bghi-0000-2006

Just ordered a Lyman Great Plains Rifle in .54 caliber percussion to try it a bit more traditional next year.

Good shooting, rookie! Isn't it great to take a deer with an old time muzzleloader.
You will be happy with that Lyman .54
More authentic, more accurate, more power
Aim small don't miss.
