You have many, many options. The most reasonable and probably the biggest improvement is to go to higher profile sights. You will need a stake in front (and a gunsmith will have to install this) and a higher profile rear. Most are sold in set which should give you very close to point of aim unless you use very light or heavy bullets. It will work fine with anything in the 200/230 gr range. If you want to get fancy, you can have a gunsmith mill a slot in the slide and go to many possible different front sights. Same for the rear. You can use the stock dovetail or go with many that will require a new (bigger) dovetail or even mill in low mount adjustable sights. Night sights or not? Up to you. If the gun is used as a house or defense gun and may be used at night, then I would probably be a wise investment. If not, I would stick to plain black sights as those still seem to be the easiest for accurate shooting. Pick up a Midway or Brownells catalog or pop onto their websights and take a look. There is everything there that you could imagine. 44 Man
