Valmet barrel part???
« on: June 04, 2007, 12:39:22 PM »
Im not sure what to call the piece that fits in between the barrels on the Valmet double rifles. Im referring to the piece that fills the gap in the middle.  Can anyone tell me what its called and where I can buy one?

Valmet didn't have a filler between the bbls, that came along later after they sold out everything and the gun became 512's...  The ones i've seen between the 512 bbls, were a piece of rubber and to me it looks rather cheesy!

Honestly I was thinking about it for my Bakial, so cheesy wont be much worse than where I am right now.  Dont misunderstand me, I like my rifle but I think closing the space would look better, even if it is "plastic", (well maybe...).

Im gonna check Doublegun Hqtrs, to see if he has it and how much it is.  Theres a limit to my vanity.

I like my barrels open.  And I like the looks of my Baikal.  Having said that I am toying with the idea of selling it.

I bought two pair of metal barrel fillers from: http://doublegunhq.com/   that fit the Valmet 412.   I put them on a 12ga/30-06 and 12ga/.223 that I own.    They are blued steel and compliment the gun.  They don't interfere with the regulation of the barrels.    They were $25.00 a pair.  I just went to the site and they are currently out of stock.  I would check back in a few weeks, they usually keep them in stock.  Click the Browse/Order line in the upper RH corner and type in Valmet.

BTW Drilling Man, that 30-06 from you is a tack driver.
