Ruger's web site has a mixture of manufacture and ship dates. It's best to call them with the serial number and get a letter confirming when it was shipped and in what configuration.

Date of manufacture and date of shipment can be very distant.  Some models will be manufactured and then sit idle for quite a while before being shipped.  Misplaced ones or simply ones tucked away and not being very popular get warehoused and can, and have sat for years before being actually shipped out to a distributor.
