i may take my cross bow instead of my black powder rifle it shoots more accurately and take my .44 cal. black powder pistol for back up

Wow.  You have a crossbow that is more accurate than your muzzleloader?  Sounds like you need a new muzzleloader!  Or that is one hell of a crossbow!

i tried to sight in my muzzleloader which is an old cva staghorn with open sights at 45 yards with 110 grains of pyrodex r/s and a round lead ball and patch.it shot one hole 50 yard groups until this year when i changed to pyro. r/s instead of pyro. p now it will throw a 4 to 5 inch group where at 4 yards that crossbow will throw a 2 inch 3 arrow group at 30 yards. but i really like my black powder handgun best it is a colt navy .44 and i can throw a 4 inch 4 shot 50 yard group.

lil hunter 12, I think I read where you said u were in Long Branch. Are you seeing any elk on the strip roads in the head of Long Branch and Wolf Creek. Some of my moms people live over there in Long Branch, but we live in Mingo WV and I thought I might apply for a permit for this fall.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!
John
