Need Help With A Quest
« on: December 13, 2006, 09:03:28 AM »
Those of you that own or are familiar with the Crosman airguns will be familiar with their fixed sight set up on the Quest series and Benjamin 1000 guns. I'd like to remove the sights for scope use only. The rear sight was no problem and easily removed and plugged. My question concerns the front sight.

No screws visible which means it's either pressed on or glued on. It's synthetic. Does anyone know if this can be removed and how?

I have the same question sent to Crosman and have heard nothing in two days. Thanks if you can help.

:)The front sight is pressed on from what I have read. Plastic expands more then steel. I think if I wanted to remove it the first thing I would try, would be to stick it into boiling water for a few  mins and see it it would just slide off.
I have a new Quest 1000 and the front sight does not cause problems when using a scope. I would just leave it to protect the barrel crown exc. But thats me.
if its worth doing, finish it!

It's off.  I just took a screwdriver and tapped her a little and it popped right off.  It didn't bother me when looking through the scope I just don't like the looks of a gun with fixed sights and they always hang up in the case when you're trying to get it out quick to do some pest control in the road ditch.
