243 Handi Shooter in Spain.
« on: December 18, 2006, 03:40:35 PM »
Got an e-mail from a fellow in Spain, his 243 pops open. Gave him all the dope I could think off but his English is not too good. Don't know if he can understand what I am saying. I don't speak Spanish.

Any body here is fluent in Spanish?

Owning a 243 temperamental Handi in Canada is bad enough, but Spain?

tried or looked at babelfish.com or any of the other translators sites. Really makes a train wreck out of the grammar, but it can be understood. Would that help him any?

With the bad English you mentioned, wonder if that is what he used?

Good luck,
Chris

I will wait and see when he writes back see if he got the drift of things.

I tried on of these translaotors German/English, good grief it was hilarious.

When you use words that are specific to a subject the translator breaks down the words into sections and what comes out makes no sense.

On simple sentenses it works not too bad. I am on my way to the hospital for 4 days. So I let you know when I get back.

I do not know if I can be of help but I am married to a beautiful Spanish lady. I speak a little and understand more. The problem with the Spanish language (English, too, for all that matters) is that it varies quite a bit from region to region or country to country. For example, in Mexico a quesadilla is a food that is made with soft tortillas filled with cheese, chicken, beef, vegies, or any combination of these, folded, and fried. Queso is spanish for cheese. But in Central America like El Salvador, quesadilla is a bread to be eaten when drinking coffee for example.

I guess my point is ... if you want me (really, if you want my wife) to try to help ... well, that's what GBO brothers are all about. Just let me know Fred M.

Hey quick .... I just came up with a very crazy idea ... what about you translating the "FAQ's and HELP" sticky into spanish for friends like Fred's? Just kidding ...  as if you don't have enough to do already.
