Gentleman, Topic drift is allowed most of the time. This topic was started by copdoc as a discussion on 24 PDR Coehorn mortars. Copdoc has drifted his topic a bit to talk about cannons in general and what he uses to haul them. Very good topic. Cannon hauling vehicles are on topic here on the board, car and truck talk is not. Discuss your cannon hauler all you want.
When I lived in America, land of the free and home of the brave, I used a Toyota 4x4 Pickups and various Ford F150's. My current XLT F-150 with 5.4 liter Triton V-8 is sitting in storage in Montana. I wasn't allowed to bring it with me to South Africa. Steering wheel is on the wrong side and it is way to big for the highways and parking lots in this very urban country. So here's what I have over here.
This is our Hyundai Atos. It is a Korean car made in India. I has a 1.1 liter side mounted 4 cylinder engine with efi, 3 speed w/overdrive floor mounted automatic tranny, CD player a/c and no airbags. Seats 5 people with plenty of room as long as one the three in the back is small. Its 35 liter fuel tank gives 14 km to the liter. Just in case you think this is just some sort of muscle car built for looks, it can haul the frieght also. Plenty of room for cannon and supplies!
