I know you keep asking for numbers showing the difference between a TC and revolver.

These are the numbers I got with my guns:

TC:  240 gr. XTP, 12" barrel = 1253 fps.

S&W 629, 6 1/2" barrel, 240 gr. XTP = 1464 fps.

You have to take the difference in barrel length into consideration.  Don't know if that helps.  ;)

Boy talk about too much eggnog!  ; )

Yes just reverse those figures.  Thanks for the catch, Bill.

Happy New Year to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you sure you didn't get those numbers reversed? Yeah it's possible that they are not but it would be a very rare situation for a 6.5" revolver to shoot the same load faster than a 12" TC.
Just another voice in the crowd!!!

300winman,
I agree to a point, with your second post, and yes Dan Wesson revolvers can be very accurate, had one years ago in 357 and wish I'd never have let it go. But like I said in my post, I'm sure there are others that can do much better, but I've yet to be able to make a 100yrd group with any revolver that will match what I can do with my 44 mag contender with similar optics. Or had anyone else I know with any revolver match it. But like I said that's just my experience.
