I could pick one up at a gun show for 120.00 It has a safety and side mount with rings for scope. Has anyone shot the .308 version? Are they reasonably accurate?
They are accurate, I own one. BUT they are also complete pieces of crap. The goons at Century actually ran the forend through a bandsaw to allow for the shortned barrel, Cutting off the forend retaining clip in the process. the only thing holding the forend in place is the front sight witch will break through the wood in just a few shots. I overcame this "oversight" by drilling and tapping my reciever and fashoning a new retaining clip from a motorcycle masterlink.
Then there's the barrel being indexed WRONG the front sight was actually canted several degrees away from the rear sight. Causing my rifle to shoot 24" to the left @100. Using the iron sights.
My rifle also wouldnt feed STD length 308 unless I loaded my rounds quite a bit longer than standard 308 the bullet points would hang on the feed ramp.
So unless you're wanting a project to tinker with I suggest running VERY far away. See the below thread for more details on my Century FrankenMAS
