Pyrodex Vs. Black Powder
« on: March 05, 2007, 07:59:52 PM »
Around where I live no one sells black powder, and there isn't any demand since the local cowboy action shooters all use pyrodex. Has anyone used it instead of black powder, if so how does it compare?

Pyrodex needs a lot of mass to push against to get up to pressure.  Lighter projectiles just don't go far.  When I did have Pyrodex I mixed it with black and that did the trick.
