Does anyone prairie dog hunt in ND?
« on: February 04, 2003, 09:06:02 AM »
Father-in-law and I want to take the kids out on a prairie dog hunt and live in the Fargo area.  Was wondering if anyone has any information about places to go to find good PD hunting.  We're willing to travel and make a weekend of it, we just need some information.  Any help will be appreciated.

I have hunted the Rosebud Indian reservation in South Dakoth.  It is on the border of Nebraska and SD.   I see there is a reservation  in the Northern part of SD this is wher you hunt prarie dogs. Their not poisoned on the reservation.  Just go to the reservation and buy a licenes to hunt, Have any firearms licenes from your state and you will probabally be ok.  Call ahead to check regulations...Dallas

I shot a few in the Badlands of ND last June. It was a lot of fun but there weren't tons of them around. I found them in pockets here and there. You need to check out a map to see where there is private and public lands. Some ranchers seem to be OK about hunting while others don't want to be bothered.
