I know this will make some of you smile, but I am willing to take the abuse. :)  Can I load a percussion cap rifle for a shotgun?  Thanks and sorry if it is just plain stupid question.

i take it , your asking if you can  load shot in a rifle ?
if so the answer is yes . howver your not going to like thepatern it throws .  my exsperiance with a 54 cal CVA hawken  was that it had a patern like a donut . the rifling throws the shot in a ring with very littl in the center

Yes, I have loaded my TC Hawken up with an ounce of number twelve rat shot. It shoots fine, but like captchee says, does not throw a good pattern.

There are barrels made with riflin' grooves that don't spiral, just run straigt down the barrel. I've never had one, but some folks claim they are more accurate than smooth bores, and generally handle shot loads just fine.  :-\

Guess I should mention you are going to have allot of leading that will have to be cleaned out of the barrel, unless you make & use shot cups. ;)
