CVA Optima, .50 Cal reviews? comments?
« on: December 22, 2006, 11:19:42 AM »
Recently found a NEW CVA Optima .50caliber black powder rifle.

It has the black (speckled) synthetic stock, and nickel plating.

Price is $156 (New!).

Is this a good muzzle loader (elk, under 100yds) for the money?

I have this same rifle in 45 cal. I found no problems with this gun at all. It shoots very well with several diffrent bullets I tried in it,which is unusual because 45 s seem to be more picky about diffrent loads. This gun  is a breese to clean, before it I had a bolt action M/L I almost enjoy cleaning the Optma compaired to the bolt.  I know a lot of people dont like CVA for one reason or another but I cannot complain about this one.

Lets us know how it shoots, I just picked up a Kodiak Pro Mag. made by CVA. Once the weather brakes I will be out with it getting sighted in
