Mathew Quigley Buffalo Shoot

Did any of you happen to go to the Quigley shoot in Forsyth, MT this past June?  I went for the first time and had a ball shooting a 535 gr home cast bullet from a Rapine mold, using my Pedersoli 45-70, 1874 sharps.  I met Bill Bagwell and his lovely wife who just happened to be shooting the same rifle with the same identical sights that I was using.  It was the most fun I have ever had at a shooting match.

Hi Omaha Poke> :D I tried to make it but I was a weak late.That sure is a well layed out range.When I was there it was unused except for the long horn cattle,so I called Al Lee and asked if I could use it they are nice people.I will make it next June,I hope my new Shiloh will be finished by then.Hope to see you there.Lp. :D

:D   I hope to meet all you guys that attend the Quigley.. for the last two years work has interfeard with myself attending.  This next year I will be there no matter what.

I am currently trying some pp bullets that a good friend sent me from Alaska that he cast.  These are 580-gr and am looking forward to touching them off here real soon.  :lol:

Montana, hope to see you there, this year there were 416 shooters from 34 states and a couple foreign countries.  It was the most fun I have had shooting since I got my first deer.  A great bunch of people, and everyone is real helpful.  I don't intend to ever miss going to this shoot.  Merry CHRISTmas, Poke.

:D  Merry Christmas to all here as well.

I would say the luckiest guy at the Quigley this last year was the guy whos ticket was selected.  He by the way, was shooting the Quigley with a barrowed Sharps.

My son and I both will be there, I will be using a Sharps either a new longer barreled one that I am getting here in the next couple of months or with my current 28" IAB Sharps, wish it was at least a 30" barrel.  My son will be using the Buffalo Classic with it's 32" barrel.

But most of all, no matter the outcome we all will be having the time of our lives  :lol:

:D Hi Montanan>I will be there if I dont forget the date again.Being a plumber for more than 35 yrs and inhaling all that lead it kind of shortens the memory anyway thats what I blame it on :lol:
Say when you pick up that Sharps from Shiloh you keep your pattys off mine.I hope it will be ready for the match.I wanted to ask you if they had a weight restriction on the rifles,I hope not I dont have any feather weights :grin:.
I get out to Montana about 5or6 times a year looking for Gold or just walking in Big Bob.I love that country.Lp.

Lead Pot...

You will be happy to know that there is NO restrictions on weight.

All rifles have to be .37 cal or above.. no copper jacketed bullets, gas checks okay, no Parsons or RHC brass telescopic sights, only vernier or barrel sights allowed.

Al is pretty strict about that.

Loads can be smokelss or blackpowder or duplex

TNX.for the web page I been looking for that page.That range is really layed out good.I called AL and asked him if I could use it ,and he said sure just dont hit the Longhorns.I made that Buff ring with the .40-65 and the .45-70.I saw another buff way up on the hill but I didn't want to take a shot it was to close to the rim,I didnt know what layed on the other side.I couldnt get a reading with my 1000 yd Lazer.
