Pics of Sportsters?
« on: September 24, 2006, 10:03:54 AM »
Has anybody got some pics of their Sportsters with different woods, scopes etc. on them? I ordered
a Sportster but won't get it for about a week. Can y'all show me yours?
Thanks,
-Weldman

Here's a thread from the Centerfire forum with lots of pics of Handis, the Sportster looks the same cept it has a matte finished frame. Both of my Sportsters have the syn stock, so don't have a pic that "wood" help!! ;D

Here is a shot of my 17M2 barrel on my 22mag ultra frame. That barrel is long gone, its now a 17 frame! I have both 17's for it...:)

Here is a shot of both:

Please tell us about the coyote shot with the .17 HMR. Distance, shot placement, size (wieght) of coyote, brand of bullet used, reaction of coyote after struck and effect on coyote's body. I am thinking of using my .17 HMR instead of my .22 Mag a bit this winter and am interested in it's performance on coyotes. Thanks....<><.... :)

It was a young coyote.  He was hunting mice in the middle of a pasture at a distance of about 200 yds.  I did pace it off, but can't recall exactly ( was mid summer ) . The first shot I took at him, I missed, right over his head ( head on, between the eye's aim ) .  The second shot connected, as he got broadside, a double-lunger.  The yote only made it for 30 yds while biting and spinning, then piled up.  I was a bit surprised to find there was an exit hole on the opposite side, at this distance.  The bullet I was using, the one most accurate in this rifle, is the CCI V-Max.  The BSA's BDC worked perfectly.  My first shot, I had forgotten to adjust it, and held a little high.  Once I dialed it in, it was smack-on!  No breeze to speak of, just a humid summer evening, and using Stoney Point sticks.

what kind of accuracy are you getting with that stock and bipod set up on your hummer?  Have heard that H&Rs don't like the bipods a lot of times.

Thanks,

Yes, all H&R NEF frames will accept all stocks except the 10ga and 12ga USH which use larger stock sets due to the large frame.
