..... fer a round of drinks down at the Saloon, my treat. I'll have you know I decided to take your advice and decided to pan lube my bullets this time around. So if things go well, I owe it all to you! And if they don't, well, I gues I can say this feller from Kane Tuk made me do it! :-D The good news is that the pan lube process went well and I'm very pleased with the results. The bad news is that my Marlin is jamming up and won't be ready for this weekend.

To add insult to injury, the double I traded for won't even shoot! It is too late to take the Marlin back, but the double barrel will be returned to my dealer first thing. I'm on good terms with him and we can get something worked out. Soooo, we'll just have to see how the Winchester likes the pan lubing!

Shouldn't be a big deal to get that Marlin all smoothed up and working right. Most of them these days seem to need it fresh from the factory unlike in days gone by.

Follow the owner's manual instructions to take it down. Pull out the lever and bolt and watch where that little piece that falls out goes back into. :eek: Oh yeah if you ain't watching it will surprise ya but ain't no biggie to figure out where and how it goes back. Now get you some crocus cloth or a hard arkansas stone and make every thing that touches something else as smooth as a babies butt and that rifle will feed and eject with the best of them. Remove metal ONLY if there is a burr or something obvious. Otherwise just polish the mating surfaces. Then grease her up and go to work with it.

Howdy Holiday!! make that a Root Beer if ya please! I'm glad that your pleased with the pan lubing process, there was never any doubt in my mind that you would be. Now for the true test of faith: Did you still add a lube cookie?

Marshal, I figure I'll have the Marlin up before too long, thanks for the advice. I think my problem is going to be the carrier. Thanks fer the advice!

Butler, I'll join ya in that root beer. And as to the lube cookies, the only rounds I have with cookies are a few I had left over from the last shoot. So this is gonna be a real test!
