I am a fan of the 1899. I purchased my first 3 years ago.
Great rifle and yours is in a very desirable caliber.
Happy shooting

Have one in my safe made in 1924, also in 30/30. Mine is well worn from hunting. It belonged to my father in law, He gave it to me several years ago to clean and store for him. It has very little bluing left on it and the wood has very little finnish on it. My F-I-L was and old rancher and spent most of his time on the range, carried it in a scabord(sp). It has killed more deer and bear than most people have seen, plus several Mt Lions. Yotes he has taken more than his share of them. He passed on this past OCT, and it has now passed to my wife. It still shoots well and I like the fact with the rotary mag I can load Pointy Boolits in it. It will be staying in the family as a" Hand Me Down" thru the generations.
