Best TC scope mounting

What are the +/- of the TC scope mounting systems such as duo ring system or simply the base mount and rings?  Is there more flexability with either method?

The duo mount is a good idea but:
The mounting screws to the barrel were short and did not provide enough grip/strength to the barrel, screws would shear off.
 Because you can't adjust the distance between the rings some people can't set the scope at a proper distance to thier face. Especially on rifles.
 Standard weaver style bases, when used on heavy and tappered barrels, leave about a half an inch of overhang where the mount extends over the taper on the barrel.
 SSK makes nice flush fitting mounts that have 6 screws to keep the base on any caliber that gives off some recoil.

Would this apply to the ML barrel (this is probably what I will be buying first)?  Is it "standard" for the base to overhang a bit for eye relief adjustment?

Only one scope mounting system for an Encore in my safe.  Its all steel Warne rings and base no matter what the barrel is bored for, ML or rifle.

My thoughts exactly. All my Encores have steel Warne rings and bases.

I use the Talley mount with great success - I have had it on my 12ga. for the past few years and point of zero hasn't changed... I give this mount a 4 star rating ....

The Warne, Stratton, and Talley have all treated me well on rifles.  I use Stratton the most since most of my stuff is custom 6 hole that is made for them.

I have Weaver bases on my 3 Encore barrels and Burris detachable Zee rings on a Leupold tactical scope. I can swap the scope around if I need to.  I have to take the scope off the m/l barrel when I hunt Colorado anyway.  I usually keep the scope on a 6.5 x 55 sporter barrel that I used to fill my deer tags this year.  So far, the scope has been within  a couple of clicks when it was removed and replaced on the same barrel.
