About to order my first
Contender
.
Carbines are not common here in Australia & cost more than I want to spend.
But I really want one & already have enough bolt & lever guns.
Plan is for a .44 mag - stainless receiver - synthetic stock - custom shop 18" stainless bull barrel.
I am aware that it will be a
long
wait but I have enough projects on the go to fill in the time.
What trigger weight should I expect on a G2?
Anyone else shooting .44 mag from an 18" barrel?
Appreciate any other comments on the outfit I'm planning.

G2's have a nice and crisp trigger. The factory weight varies, but is in the 3.5-4lb range. It's short travel and smoothness do make it feel great. I shoot the .44 in a 12" pistol and it is a tack driver.
