It was a Ruger 1A in 7x57.  Shot MOA all day long with Remington 140 grain Core-Lokt.  Hot barrel, cold barrel, with or without a shooting sling.  "Was" because I sold it several years ago to help pay closing costs on a house.  Keep telling the wife I should have kept the gun instead.  Ha ha.  She doesn't think that it was funny though.....

I have 10-ish Ruger handguns.

My favorite is a 44 Mag Redhawk set up primarily for bowling pin hunting.

Uncle Mike's grips, Magna-Ported barrel, Pro-Point red dot, chamfered chambers, some polishing of things that move in the action, ligther springs (Federal primers only).

I shoot custom swaged bullets in it mostly... 320 grain full wad cutter hollow points. Soemtimes I shoot 240 grain cast SWC's for practice, as swaged bullets take longer to make.

The gun is heavy, the loads are relatively light, so the recoil is nil. The Magnaporting does add to recoil, but muzzle climb is almost zero. In fact, there is little change in point of impact out to 50 yards or so no matter what the load or bullet is.

I have several that I really like but I guess I would have to call this one my favorite.

I've done a lot of hunting with my 44-mag super redhawlk, but my favorite is a 10-22 that I did a lot of work on.

Can't narrow this one down to just one!  I have a 77/mkII in 6.5x55 which shoots very well (good enough to shot a deer this last hunting season).  I just picked up a Ruger International in 30.06 that I haven't been able to shoot just yet, but I just love how short and light this rifle is.

My .35 Whelen. It has the old style all weather stock, express sights, and a blued barrel and action topped with a Leupold VXII. Was one of the special runs sold through Davidsons Gallery of Guns.

The Ruger Standard .22 cal semi auto hand gun. That gun just plain likes me, and it lets me hit whatever I want.   I coon hunted with it for many, many years. In fact the sights are still painted white for night shooting.

My "favorite" Ruger?

The RSI (Ruger #1 International with the Mannlicher-style stock & 20" barrel) in 7x57... a cliassic rifle in a classic caliber.    :)
