Guys:

Has anyone laid their hands on Beretta's U22 Neo yet? Looks like something from a Star Wars movie...but the reviews look intriguing for what appears to be a neat tin can roller.

Yup, I got one. I got it for my wife (she hates my Ruger 22/45). It seems to be well made and shoots straight. Mine has the shorter barrel. (had to get what I could before the new internal lock law took effect in MD) My experience with it has been limited so far, but she really likes it. I prefer my Ruger because it is more accurate with it's longer barrel. It is only a matter of time before we get the long barrel for the Neos. I'll give it one thing - take down is simpler than the Ruger (my wife can do it). I'm just not too crazy about the way the barrel attaches to the receiver. There is a screw mechanism that holds it in place, but I wonder if torqueing it more or less will affect the accuracy.

Hello,Ihad the opportunity to spend some quality trigger time with a NIB NEO Sunday last.
Another range regular handed me one he was having troubles zeroing with a niw red dot, together we fired around 600rds.
I wouldn't buy one, many malfunctions, fair to poor accuracy and one of the worst trigger pulls ever on a rimfire.
Two inch groups were the norm from a bagged rest using more than several brands of ammo from cheap Federal bulk, Win Wildcat, Federal Lightning, CCI Blazer to the pricey Stingers and Remington Yellowjacket and Mini Mags.

My experience has been good so far. I have a red dot on it now. It shoots well and is a little less picky than my 22/45 on what it likes to eat. My groups have been in the 2" range but at 25 yds offhand. That was with Federal Wal Mart specials. I'll be using this during squirrel season (if I can't talk my buddy into parting with his .416 WBY mag :wink: ).
Best of all, my wife likes to shoot it. She goes through ammo faster than I can reload it. I like to see her with a 22.

When I first saw one, I thought it would be a good model for my wife. (My 8" 22/45 is too bbl heavy for her) Looked ayt some a t gun shows but decied to wait until the new Taurus 922 comes out this summer. If nothing else, the taurus has a more "classic" design. One item that the Beretta does havegoing for it is the possibility of the release of the carbine kit for it. Makes the little pistol a handy squirrel rifle.
