do I need a regulator
« on: December 26, 2006, 04:25:55 PM »
I received a propane lantern and a 30 inch propane tri outlet distribution post as a gift.  Do I need a regulator inbetween my lantern and my stove and the tank or are the control valves enough.  The lanter and stove run off of the small propane bottles now.

No regulator needed Charlie Tango. Just turn the lantern onto the top of your post, and light it up. The lantern control is the regulator. The gas appliances that operate on the one pound bottles either require no regulator, or have one installed in the appliance. To run other appliances that use one pounders off your distribution post, you will need a hose or two that has the male and female connections that match the top of a one pound LP bottle. Just screw the male end into the appliance where you would screw in the bottle, and screw the female end onto the post. I have one old camp cook range that ran off a regulator, so to run it off my post, I insalled a small regulator on the stove, and fitted it with a female fitting that the hose screws into.
