Question - Taurus 44
« on: January 03, 2007, 02:59:52 PM »
I just aquired an older but in excellent condition, Taurus 44 (no other numbers).
It is a  44 Magnum, 6 1/2" barrel ported w- vent rib for scope mount.
At the very bottom, looking at the gun upside down underneath the barrel is a small hole about half way. It concerns me to have this opening because moisture can get in & form rust & I have no way of cleaning it. Thanks for any help. Also, if I gave serial number, could someone date it?

I have one, same but blued.  Turning the gun upside down,  with the full underlug facing up, there is no hole in the barrel.  This hole would have to go through the underlug in order to go into the bore.  No holes on the exterior of the barrel  anywhere except of course the muzzle and "breech" end.  There is a pin which holds the spring plunger in place, but this is not a "hole".   Yes, the porting consists of holes, but this is not what you are referring to.
Vote them all out, EVERY election!

Does anyone remember the scene from "Quigley Down Under" showing the aborigines lined up on the skyline as far as you could see?   That needs to be US!
