I'm looking into buying my first rimfire and am leaning in the direction of a Marlin Bolt Action 22.
The gun would be used by myself and the kids primarily for plinking.
In looking through the Marlin catalog, all the rimfires have Monte Carlo stocks with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions.
I am not interested in scoping it now. (Not to say that I won't scope it at a later date.)
My question is, without a scope, will I be able to get low enough on a Monte Carlo stock to clearly see the open sights?
Also if anyone has any opinions or experience with the following 22's I'd appreciate hearing your comments:
Marlin 980S - Bolt Action 22 - synthetic/stainless - monte carlo stock
Marlin 925 - " " " - wood/blued - " " "
Marlin 925R - " " '' - synthetic/blued - straight stock
Thanks.
