Cleaning Muzzleloaders with Windex

I was informed that windex was a great cleaning agent for muzzleloaders.  It only has about 2% amonia so it won't hurt the gun.  Has anyone else sed this?

I just read today on another forum to use Windex with vinegar.

I have tried other stuff,  the tried and true, hot soapy water works best,   dry it off and coat it with light gun oil. 

Once for kicks I used diet coke, and it worked fine, just still needed the heat of hot water to get the barrel dry.

I have used everything from hot soapy water , tc #13, cold water, and windex with vinegar.  I have two muzzleloaders, a traditional side hammer and a breakdown in-line.  I now use the windex exclusively.  After cleaning, I dry the barrel with patches and grease it with natural lube 1000 and put it away.  When I take it out I dry the barrel with patches and I have noticed no rust.  I then fire 3 caps or primers and I am ready to load.  Works for me after many years.

Your Windex with ammonia will work fine. I even prefer the ammonia option over the vinegar one.... reason-being is bore stickiness after firing a few rounds with the Windex vinegar inside the bore.
