Quick-- how do you attach pics directly to post--

 Quick --- I read in FAQ about how to post link to pics, but I couldn't find how to attach directly a pic to a message. when I tested a message post - hitting preview but not the post button, the pic does not show in the preview. Does the preview just not show the pic? In other words do you just have to post to see it attached ? Found the "attachment" button in the additional options. Thanks in advance for the answer....Bob.   ???

I've never used the attachment option, I just post the pic url inside img tags like {img}image url{/img} only using [ ] brackets instead of { }.
