357 mag handi?

so, do they make a 357 mag barrel?
if so, what options?

what would recoil be like compared to a 223 shooting 64g sp loads for example ?

just a curiousity thing...

Yes they still offer the.357 barrel for the Handi but not the complete rifle. My 11 year old daughter has one in .357 and she shoots the 180 grain cartridges made by Cor-Bon. We also picked up a couple of boxes of Federal Vital Shoks in 180 grain but haven't tried them yet. She killed her first deer and hog with it this year and I killed a deer with it also. I liked it so much I ordered a barrel for my Handi. As far as recoil, I can honestly say to me there is none and my daughter doesn't complain either. In fact that is why I got it in the first place. It doesn't make a lot of noise when you shoot it either. Just a nice crisp crack. Go for it. You won't be disappointed.

Yea, yea, I was going to start a thread about the .357mag but I'll tag on here if ya don't mind.
 How does everyone who has a .357mag barrel like them?
I was thinking of getting a .44mag barrel but after afew bad reports here and looking at the twist rate I don't think it would be a good choice for me. So I may go .357mag.
 Any input could be helpful. Thanks.

 Ihave a 357 mag rifle ( reamed camber to 357 maxmum) I like it very much,
 Just don't get to shoot it as much as I would like. Marv.

i just gotto shoot the one have put togather thanks to eskimo36  yeaterday ,, forgot how much i really like a hard hittin soft recoil rifle, mine shoots great,  hard to not mistake it for a mild 3030 round, i load 180 gr  in the 357, and they work great, goin to add a peep sight real quick to it , i think they are  way under rated  but each their own, i got a 44 barrel on the way ill compare , but the 357 for cost is goin to be hard to beat

By far my favorite rifle. I have two barrels, one has been maxed but if you don't reload rounds are hard to get. As for the .357 its just fun to shoot kinda like a big .22, dosn't have the range of a .223 but I believe it has much more knock down power. Recoil? whats Recoil? It dosn't really have any. And takeing out the army of darkness(tin cans) with .38s can use up alot of ammo and make big smiles. Did I mention its my favorite?
