the 2200 rides again
« on: January 11, 2007, 06:57:24 AM »
well i got my 2200 back out. I had put it away because it was comeing apart and it had been a month sent i last saw it. After reading some books on buff hunting i got it back out for some large bore shooting. I put some new sight on this gun. First i try some No.4 enfiled rear sight but they didn't work too well, then some springfield 1903 A3 rear sights better but not what i wanted. I wanted something more big bore, safari, or African. so after seeing the doc's dakota traveler and safari 76 i saw what i wanted. I found some hooded front and 3-leaf express rear sights and now with the 4x15mm daisy this gun is both a scoped 50 yard hunter and a short range coon, rat and other fast game and varminter. It's my old bore bore with a safari feel. I tryed the 3-leaf on paper and the 100 yard sight works for 1-15 yards, the 200 yard for 20-28 yards and the 300 yard for 30-45 yards with these sights i just pull up the right one for the range and 3 for the right yards and will hit 1-1 3/16 on target. i used the new sights on a rat at 43 yards and it hit it below the eye with the 300 yard leaf.

What gun are you talking about? A Crosman 2200 pump? I have one of those. Nice gun.
If this is the gun you are refering to, how did you mount the new sights.

the first two time i had gunsmith do them and the last time i did it. the rear sights the a hole in the middle of the sight for the squaw and the front sight i had to put some tape on it to hold the metal hood peace in the hold the barrel up. it just like a real gun and yes a crosman 2200.
