Hawk Bullets
« on: January 12, 2007, 05:23:55 PM »
ANybody ever use hawk Bullets.

I have a .35 whelen with an undersized bore.

I was thinking of using 9mm bullets to solve the problem.  I imagine any bullet designed for the 9x57 will work just fine at .35 whelen velocities.

I looked at the website and their round points look like they would be good in any caliber.

Hawk Bullets gets an A+ in my book. And I deal with a lot of bullets. Andy is a great guy and if he does not have exactly what you need on hand or listed, he'll make it for you at a very low cost.

An example, we needed some .338 bullets that would expand at low and sub-sonic velocities, all the on the shelf bullets that everyone has are made to expand around 2200+ and hold together at high speed. Called him up told him what we needed, three weeks later we had it at only about a 25% cost increase over what we pay for Nosler bullets. Now we asked a few other folks as well and the prices we were quoted were about 75% to 115% more than off the shelf. Don't get me wrong, that is totally understandable as it required some special equipment and we would likely be the only customers, so it was not a real investment. But Andy is a great guy, great products, and heads above customer service. He continues to get my business and my recommendation.
