My latest Banner 1½-4½x32 isn't marked on the scope, but is marked "made in china" on the box. My older Banners were made in Korea, but I think that's a thing of the past.
"  I own a Banner in that size that I would love to put on my 45-70 but didn't think it would hold up there as it is not one of the 'high end' scopes.  I was always told (possibly erroniously?) that only the 'big name' (and big price) scopes would hold up on a harder kicking gun.  I was therefore planning to put my 4x Leopold compact on it.  Do you think the Banner would handle that gun ok?  Thanks.  44 Man.

The reason I started using that particular scope on my.45-70 is cuz the levergun boys at MarlinOwners give it a great big thumbs up for use on their 1895 .45-70s, it's got to be one of the best buys in big bore scopes, and I have to agree with em, it's light, bright, relatively small and from their glowing reports, holds up perfectly!! Bushnell's durability test of the Banner line includes 1000 rounds of .375H&H. ;)

It will require high rings if you don't do a little hammer modifying tho.

I have owned a couple banners.  They are a decent scope good fit for the Handi because of price.  Fair clariety & contrast, not the brightess but decent.  Hold zero very good.  Fairly repeatable adjustments although a bit tinny feel ti it.  The Legend series has better optics for a little more money and is the real sleeper, it has fully coated glass.

For the price range I trust the Banner though not great but not bad either.............they work.
