casting a chamber
« on: May 01, 2003, 07:31:04 AM »
The discusssion about reamers got me thinking......wouldn't the most accurate way to determine max case length and col (aol) of a finished round be to cast one's chamber? I've never done this, however it has interested me for years. I believe I saw casting components in one of the reloading wholesalers. Don't remember which one now, but it was fairly inexpensive.

T/C,
The material most used I think is Cerrosafe. Runs about $16-17 a lb I think. Brownells has it. Melts at a fairly low temperature and is user friendly, so I'm told. I have a bar of it here but haven't used it yet. FWIW
