I called C/S at Choate and H&R. The Choate stocks are weighed in fractions of a lb.
Choate VArmint=1.65#
Survivor =1.3#
HAndi synth =1#
I'll add a couple decimals in my head for the high-comb, monte carlo synthetic which puts the Survivor and the high comb on par together. Glad to know. Not enough of a difference to change my mind either way. I like the Var Stock. So there. I already knew that.
I'll consider the synth forend with a conventional forend because it sounds like a better fit near the reciever. Plus, I haven't heard of anyone bedding the synthetic forend. I just don't like variables not to mention Bill3006 put one in the freezer on a whim and he couldn't even get back on the gun! That's extreme but if any of this eliminates variables I'm happy. I just want a lean setup, light. Handi, so to speak.
