williams peep sight

I am getting a new williams peep sight for my 336c 35 rem. My question for you guys that use peeps do you take out the arperture and just sight through the frame circle or do you leave it in and use it?

I took it out of mine as it helps get on a moving target faster.

I leave mine in unless it is just dark enough that I can't see my front sight, then I screw it out. I have done this on two different occasions and made the shots. One was on a deer and the other was on a raccoon.

Like Slufoot and Duckbill, my aperture stays in until it starts getting too dark for it.  I also use a Red FireSight up front - that makes for a neat little M1895G package that works well for me (I also take the front sight hood off before shooting, as I hate having it showing in my sight picture).

One day I am going to pick up one of the Twilight apertures to see how that works on it.

Njanear,they work great.I have one on mine and it has a gold ring around the outer rim that really sets off the fire sight which I also have on mine.It makes a big difference early or late.I don't take mine out at all.I have the .050 size and I have no problem using it for hunting.sj

I leave my aperture in until it starts getting dark. Be sure to practice shooting with it taken out and in at the range. I like to blow up small balloons and practice at hitting them at different yardage.

I sight in with the aperture in.  I take it out when I go hunting.  Mine was on a Winchester 94 in .30-30.  Works for me.

the small ones to small for anything but benching for me and taking it out leaves it to big for my eyes to get a good clear focus on. So what i do is buy an extra apeture and drill it out for a compromise.

Or get the Merit. You can dial in aperture size.

A little of topic but which sight do you suggest for hunting only? Do I need th micro adjustable?
