Hi, New here
« on: January 31, 2007, 03:33:25 PM »
Just wanted to say hello, glad I found this site, as I have been a big NEF/H&R fan quite a while.

Started with a H&R 12 slug gun, 30 years ago, still have it.
Started on my latest project couple of years ago, when I found out about the barrel program, and purchased a .243 Handi rifle w/ the proper serial numbers.

That .243 Handi rifle now has 10 barrels , .243, .270. 45/70 gov, .50 cal muzzle loader.Then added .410/.45 long colt, 28 ga, 20 ga, 20 ga rifled bull, 16 ga, 3-1/2-12ga w/chokes.

Have also added 2 more guns  to the collection, 10 ga, and a .223 Handi rifle. (this will be the base for the next weapons system).
So I'll hang out awhile and see what happens.
Thanks
If all else fails, I can always shoot supper.

Welcome to Handiholics Anonymous!!! ;D You do indeed have a good start there, but there are a few here that are equally afflicted, I don't have but 2 complete shotguns, but do have 26 complete NEF/H&R rifles and 2 extra barrels...... right now ;D, but I'm always susceptible to more as a true Handiholic should be, a fella can never have too many guns......or Handis!! :D

Hanging around here certainly won't help reduce your urge for more, that's for sure, but there are many here that can share the pain!!!! ;) When ya get tired of those run of the mill calibers, there's always custom chamberings and rebores, I have .338-06 A-Square, .405 Winchester, .280 Improved and a .35 Remington, always thinking of more....have a .300WSM too, but it isn't running yet, need a little shop work on it!! :-\

Welcome and I am also new. I want and will add many new barrels to my Handies.I had to sell my 223 barrel (with a 1 in 12 twist) this past week because of money problems. That barrel would shoot groups about 3/4'' all the time if I did my part.I think I would like to get a new 223 barrel with a 1 in 9 twist. What I am going to do first is go down to Gander Mt. and put a 204 ultra varmint rifle(with the 24'' fluted barrel) on layaway next week. Then I am going to order some other barrels for my other regulear handi which would include 45-70 the 30-06 and the 7mm 08.After I get that back I will send in the Ultra Varmint and get the following barrels 22-250 the 25-06  and the 308 on that frame.Well this is my wish list and if you guys feel that I am missing something let me know.I think I could hunt anything in north america with these barrels. ;D ;D ;D

Thanks, guys, thought I was the only carzy one?
Been looking at a couple of barrels, for the .223.
Thinking .204 Ruger, .35 Whelan, and maybe 7mm-08.

Also been loading up some .223's 26gr H4895, 55gr serria boat tail, was recommended to me by my buddy, so gonna try it out.
Here's part of the weapon system so far:

If all else fails, I can always shoot supper.

Sorry, but you're too late for a .35 Whelen barrel from the factory, it's been discontinued. :-\ Your best bet would be to find one used, either in the 2006 22" version, or one of the 1996 RMEF 26" Ultras.
