anyone have an extra rimfire barrel?
« on: January 07, 2007, 11:47:18 AM »
Hi guys, I will post this in the classifieds also but was just wondering if anyone has an extra H&R/NEF rimfire barrel, it does not matter what caliber or condition, .22 or .17 will do. I have come into an extra Sportster reciever and would like to get a reasonably priced barrel with the intention of putting together some "pieces-parts" and ending up with an inexpensive gun to leave hidden at the camp so there will always be one there for those quick trips that I don't want to pack guns and ammo with me. I am sure though as the "camp gun" it will get plenty of use...Thanks....<><.... :)

P.S - I can even name it after you..."Quick's Gun", "lik2hunt's  Gun", "Stimpylu32's Gun", "Mac's Gun",
"Datil's Gun", "DWPR6284"s Gun", "Cookieman's Gun", "GB's Gun", "(insert your name here)'s Gun".... ;D

MSP: Was always wondering what to do with an open sportster receiver....With the price so low for complete sporster rifle...Thought scapping the receiver for parts would be the only way to use it....best of luck on the barrel... :)

Thanks buddy, I could not pass up the deal on this new reciever, so here I sit, waiting for some member to hopefully remember that old rusty extra rimfire barrel in the back of the closet. Heck, I'd even take a nice barrel!!! The key is to think positive, I know that somewhere out there there IS an extra rimfire barrel or one that as not been used in a long time, all I can do is ask and hope....<><.... ;D

MSP;
   I have a Sportster with 3 barrels...22 LR, .22 Mag and HMR..I also have a Versa-pack .22/.410..
  I could part with either the .22LR or the .22 Mag..Preferrably the LR since I have many .22s but only one other mag.

    I wouldn't like to sell the barrel however but would be inclined to swap for a centerfire barrel.

         I bought this unit last year and used primarily, the .17 HMR barrel for woodchucks. These barrels are like new with only perhaps 40-50 rounds through them..Weaver rails from factory. No irons.

   Let me know if you have a CF barrel to swap.

Thanks for the response Ironglow, as I said this is for an extra rimfire reciever I could not pass up for the price so any caliber will do. I do not at this time have any centerfire barrels to swap, the only possible "extra's" I might have are from an ongoing deal. I am waiting to hear from a member here (lucky guy) who offered a 3 barrel gun for sale, however as soon as it appeared as if may have gotten the gun by being the "first responder" I recieved congratualtions and requests from members here for any barrels I do not end up keeping, so those have already been spoken for (a couple of times over!!). If you are interested in a shotgun barrel which I could probably pick up cheaper than a centerfire rifle barrel I will be happy to keep my eyes open for one, Thanks....<><.... :)

P.S. - my 3 barrel Ultra combo from "lucky guy" fell through, he sold it on another forum...
