Last summer I was down at old "Corkys" cabin (half a mile from mine) having coffee when he mentioned getting a pic of a bear
that had a patch of fur missing from the backside. I didn't think much of it until he showed me the above pic last week. That's more than a patch missing. Yuk...that thing had to have mange.
I don't know what I would have done if "it" wandered into my bait station last fall when I was bear hunting. If I had blasted it and didn't see the backside until I walked up to it. I doubt I would have been manhandling it and the State of MN might have charged me with "wanton waste" but I think I might have walked away from that one.
What would you guys do? 
I've shot a few coyote with the stuff up there a few years ago, and I've heard the wolf have it now too in area. The skin can get crusty and kind of weepy with stuff leaking out. NO GOOD!!!!
I supoose the best would have been to burn the carcass of the blackbear.
I hung the coyote up off the ground, let them freeze which
does kill the mange. To my knowledge nothing ever ate them in the spring. They just rotted.
