my sidekick sights on a 45-70
« on: January 26, 2007, 05:12:26 PM »
Planning on buying a 45-70 handi tomorrow.  My question is does anyone have any idea whether or not the william fiber sights on my 3 year old sidekick will fit a new 45-70?  Aside from whether the screws would be the same would the heights be right?  Any help is appreciated.

If the barrel taper, the DIFFERENCE in diameter of each of the barrels at the location where the front and rear sights are mounted are the same, and as long as you replace the same pair of sights on each gun, OR the heights of the front sights are the same, then they should work fine. Try them and be sure to let us know how it works out....<><.... :)

MSP Ret, I just got back from KTP (I know you know where that is ;)) with my new 45-70, $229.00.  I has the WGOS with a pretty narrow blade up front.  I actually think I will like it as is.  I would still like to try my sidekick sights on it just for the light gathering.  This is going to be my "foul weather" gun up in "the county".  I can hardly wait to get it cleaned and to the range.  I bought some federal 300g to try her out.  I will have to buy dies quick, cause that $27.95 per box is making me ill!
