22 Hornet Range Report

I think I found my load.

This is 50 yards, off bags, 12x scope, Handi Hornet.

Load - 40 grain V Max, 12.8 grain Lil Gun, Federal 205 SRP  Reloaded with a lee classic reloader 

Shot the first 3 ever for that load from a cold & dry bore snake barrel (lower)  Re-zeroed once shot the next 5 (upper) note- squares are .5"

Only shots fired



 

As noted on the Hornet price thread here.  I went back to the original stock,re-finished it,cut it down 1/2" and floated it.  The lock up seemed a whisker better with the old and I had noted it shot better with the other forarm.

I will shoot it at 100 soon (and 200).  I have a 50 yard range on my property, beats loading gear and driving for first tests, plus takes the wind out some.  I shoot 50-300 pretty often and can tell allot from 50 yards............maybe more actually

Trust me, the errors are mine now at this point.  Shooting from bags little movement here and there along with some trigger pull............don't take much

Nice report bill.  Looks like it's a shooter.  I do not have a Hornet, but it seems like many here have been very happy with Lil Gun in the Hornet.
