RMC Flintlock
« on: January 15, 2007, 07:46:22 AM »
Hello All,

I was thinking of upgrading my Flinter.

I was thinking of going with one from RMC Muzzleloaders of Mingoville PA.  I can see the sights better that the one's on the Lyman Deerstalker, and this has the twist rate I want.

Does anybody have any experience with these rifles?  WHat are your impressions?

Thanks,
Rummer

You can get their sights and a new barrel! Will do the same thing.

My current flinter is an el cheapo Traditions with the plastic stock and nickel finish.  I bought it because I was unsure of how much I would like hunting with a flintlock.

I like hunting with a flinter, but there have got to be better tools than the traditions.  I almost bough a Lyman but I don't like the sights,  I also want a faster twist than 1:48".

I addition to a new barrel and sights I want a better lock.  I don't have enough experience with these things to evaluate lock quality w/o shooting it.

I am fortunate to live about 20 minutes from RMC.  While I do not own one (yet), I have handled them.  They are a very well made rifle.  The RMC folks are great to work with.
Had I not already had 2 TC flintlocks before they started making the accusportster, I would already own one.
