Myself and a few of my friends did a pay for hunt at Shenandoah Valley Sportsmen at Butler Farms.  Man these guys have their stuff together.  For $133.00 per hunter we shoot 20 pheasants, 20 chukar and 20 quail.  The birds were release in two different fields and we broke out into two groups of hunters.  I started the hunt carrying my Stoeger Condor 12 ga o/u after the first pass I switched to my Charles Dally 12 ga pump I just can't seem to get use to this o/u I shoot under everything.  Then after being ribbed by my fellow hunters I switch the my mossberg 500 410 as they said I was tearing the birds up too much.  Well after the next pass they were saying hey Dave is still out shooting us wiith the 410 so I got out my Topper .28 ga single shot.  I was like ok guys I only have one shot.  The little .28 DID GREAT.  Our guide was so impressed with the Topper he had me write down the H&R web site for him.  All in all this hunt was worth every penny we spent.  Not only was the staff a very professional staff but the hot lunch they servered was great.  They also cleaned all of our birds(This was included in our price) And after the hunt was over they were like hey don't run off hang out  and enjoy the farm all you want.  I WILL go back there again

Dave, sounds like a great time.  Where is Butler Farms... what part of WV?  I went to school in South, central WV (Charleston area).  Next time you go you should set aside some time for a whitewater fishing or rafting trip on the New or Golly rivers.

I just looked at their website. I can feel myself making the drive already. When do you want to go again?

Markus you just let me know when you want to go  and I will even pay for your birds I know I can get at least three of my friends to pony up again.  This is a really professionally run hunting farm.  And if you every go there ask for your guide to be Tommy or the bird dog to be Bingo.  The cost of the hunt depends on the number of birds they release.  In my group of hunters we paid for I think 32 birds and killed 30 not bad.. And we even killed more quail then we paid for.  Thats cool if you paid for lets said 10 quail but you killed 12 the farm figures oh ok someone else has paid for those.  And they just pass the birds to you.  Hey Markus if your serous about this let me know and I will set something up.. I'm always ready to do a hunt.
