Release Agent?
« on: January 22, 2007, 01:11:21 PM »
OK, I am getting ready to RTV bed my forearm.  I have everything EXCEPT a release agent.  Went to Sportsmans and they don't have any except what comes in the full bedding kit.

So............any recommendations on something I can buy at a local store?  Effective, cheap, easy to apply, easy to clean up, etc?

Thanks

PAM cooking spray!! I've also used Hornady One Shot dry lube, I suspect the case lube would work too, Sportsmans has it.

So, what you're saying is pretty much anything will do?   ;D

I have Pam and I have One Shot, so I guess I am in business.  By the way, thanks for the suggestion on One Shot for cleaning out the extractor area.  It worked great and no problem with oil running into the chamber or onto the latch.

You can also use turtle wax if in a pinch.

I use a couple of layers of 'RustGuardit'. Never a problem after several projects.

I'd use the One Shot over the PAM, less messy, I only mentioned the PAM since it's commonly available, probably more so than RustGuardIt, what ever that is!! ;D
