2007 prices
« on: January 24, 2007, 03:47:47 AM »
I haven't posted anything in a while, but I've still been reading almost everyday. I spoke to my father-in-law the other day who owns a small gun shop and I asked him if he had gotten any of his new 2007 sales books yet and he said yes. I asked him how things looked and he said a little expensive. Guns went up in price, but the big shocker was ammo. He said almost everything went up $4 - $6 a box for factory ammo! I had him set some ammo he currently had in stock with last years prices to the side for me. Thought you guys should know in case you want to stock up before 2007 prices hit your little gun shops.

The increases hit here about 4 weeks ago. The .308 Sierra HPBT GK bullets increased 25% and other bullets I reload went up about 20%.

About a month and a half ago I bought an estate reloading setup including powder, primers and many assorted bullets.
I started to sell all the items off except for the few I really wanted right now.
Was given a price check on upcoming prices and immediately withdrew the WTS entry.
It would cost me at least twice as much to replace the various bullets and etc I was going to sell.
Primers are due to go up 13% at the end of the month from where I usually order brass and etc.
That's after the incremental increases last year every 2-3 months.
For example August of 2005 Winchester SR primers in 10 case lots were $14.22/M delivered and including Haz-Mat.
Till end ofJanuary they are $16.48/M and Feb 1 about $18.60/M.
So that's about a 30 % increase since August of 2005.
It will continue this way as long a China and India and other associated nations buy up our raw materials such as copper, tin and etc.
For perspective my salary has gone up about 6.5% in the same time frame( small pay raises at first of year 2006 and 2007).
